Traffic

They used to put up signs in our old neighborhood saying “Football Traffic,” on Saturdays. Our friend Jim said these were his two least-favorite words, together on one sign.

Traffic is only good on the Internet. I’ve been reading about how you can drive traffic to your website, and following other bloggers who are doing the same. Once you decide to do that, it changes what you do.

It may be a leap, but I think about my favorite artists and how often, they were better when they were small. And in extreme cases, the pressure of fame was too much.

Is there the same kind of small venue intimacy available on the Internet, as there is in a small club, versus an arena?

I am grateful to the tribe of people I’ve met over the past month, who have taken the time to connect with me and share their lives in return. It’s a reminder that community is possible from a distance, and these connections can change your world.
