I wait to receive. I walk the yard in my socks with a Scotch and pick up after the kids. There’s a video on YouTube that talks about the wonder of life and how every day is precious, a gift…it shows pictures of flowers blooming and everyday people caught with a magic smile. But some days just suck.
We are building a booth for a trade show in Las Vegas. My designer used bad language in a meeting with our vendor and I had to apologize for him. He was probably right to use the bad language.
Anything that seemed straightforward at first isn’t, and some days just vector in that direction. Things are coming in over budget, time is running out. When man goes up against time or money, man often loses.
I take my daily walk past the guys who are living out of their van. I’ve even lost interest in them, I wish they would get on with it. I feel stress hardening in my back and neck, like tree roots.
There are these passages you just need to get through. A long slog through a rocky ravine and it feels like you won’t make it, but it’s the only way to go.
