May you let me be forgotten

Finally lying down again. All these cherry blossoms like handfuls of confetti coming down. That and some birds tweeting and the neighborhood kids playing. In spring you forget everything bad it seems. Fall and winter give us plenty of time for that. Let me not think for once and just stay here planted with this birdsong and breeze. Let them cover me in confetti like I’m some corpse. Let the bugs and bees have their way with me. Let me get back to the business of lying on the ground and May, let me be forgotten.

  1. Absolutely love this, Bill. Your word pictures take me to places far away, and I love it.
