Resist Settling

Since we came back from Europe, we’ve wanted to settle down. At the same time, we resist. So…we’re left unsettled.

It’s hard being in between, even if it means free rent and a place with a view. When it’s not your own, it’s still a feeling of being unsettled.

We’ve looked at houses now for half a million, with 30 year leases, cul-de-sacs, HOA’s, and new appliances. Some of it is very appealing, and some of it makes me want to run the other way.

Five years ago I would have hit someone who said I’d be moving to the suburbs by the time I’m 40. Last month, we nearly made two offers.

Now we’re on hold until I find out about this job in Amsterdam.
