Airports are soul-suckers,
They take on the life of their subjects
but have none of their own.
No one goes to the airport
to be at the airport,
but airports are necessary
like doctors’ offices and hospitals:
We all pass through changed,
but the airport stays the same.

It wasn’t always that no one goes to the airport to be at the airport. At one time, before hijackings and TSA that one could wander the airports, watching planes land and take off, watching people come and go and the hugs tears and laughter. It was a pleasant way of killing a few hours. And even today, airports do not stay the same, just seem to.

Yes, agreed…amazing how much it’s changed, and generations will never know the “before.” Thank you for sharing your thoughts. -Bill
